As you might know, one of the Hall’s rear windows is only single glazed – so adds significantly to the heating cost and is very drafty.
Just before the primer went on….
Replacing the whole window would be expensive, so we decided to fit secondary glazing (hence the large sheet of perspex on the floor in the hall.) We have all the materials to install this, we have sanded off the old window and primed it, but now it just needs a coat of white gloss before we can do the job,
The problem is that your friendly-local window fixer (Malcolm) is REALLY bad at painting and has a steamboat he needs to get back on Windermere.
So, if you have the time could someone PLEASE volunteer to give the window a coat of paint please, we can provide paint and brushes if needed… nothing fancy, just to preserve the wood… .Thank you …
It would be good to get it done in the next few days, so we can fit the glazing, or there won’t me much room for the coffee morning or other events … Speak to any Committee Member if you need the paint!

We are setting a limit of 30 places (to help with catering) so please book your places (either speak to a committee member or email booking@kabervh.com). £5/head including quiz, food and drinks. Book Your Places Now
It being 12 weeks since your new committee & trustees were elected, and, as we get to the end of 2023, it seems a good time to provide a review of this year. Both to remind us of what has been achieved in building a Community Hub in Kaber and, in a “spirit of openness”, to provide as much information as we can on the state of and plans for the Village Hall.
