A volunteer painter?

As you might know, one of the Hall’s rear windows is only single glazed – so adds significantly to the heating cost and is very drafty.

Just before the primer went on….

Replacing the whole window would be expensive, so we decided to fit secondary glazing (hence the large sheet of perspex on the floor in the hall.) We have all the materials to install this, we have sanded off the old window and primed it, but now it just needs a coat of white gloss before we can do the job,

The problem is that your friendly-local window fixer (Malcolm) is REALLY bad at painting and has a steamboat he needs to get back on Windermere.

So, if you have the time could someone PLEASE volunteer to give the window a coat of paint please, we can provide paint and brushes if needed… nothing fancy, just to preserve the wood… .Thank you …

It would be good to get it done in the next few days, so we can fit the glazing, or there won’t me much room for the coffee morning or other events … Speak to any Committee Member if you need the paint!

A Booking Manager arrives!

RachelAs you may be aware, we have been trying to get someone to take on the job of being a “bookings manager” for the Hall. This is the person who people can contact to book an event at the hall, will manage the calendar and provide information on booking terms, prices etc, (and orchestrate the helpers too).

We all owe a thank you to Rachel Green who put her hand up for this job – thank you!

Rachel moved into the area in 2022 and loves being a part of such a great community, she works in education across the country running a program to help young people get the right educational skills to find suitable working roles.

You can email Rachel at booking@kabervh.com     Or via the phone on 74944.
